Back in the summer of 1982, before his last year of high school, God saved Troy. While an undergrad at USC, God crystallized a calling to pastoral ministry. Troy graduated from Biola University’s Talbot School of Theology and one month after graduation, Troy and Julie were married. In the first eight years of their marriage, they produced four children. Troy has shepherded the same congregation since 1994, when a team of about 20 faith filled people started a church that would later become Gateway Friends Church.

Sung is a graduate of UC San Diego and Talbot School of Theology. At Gateway, Sung takes care of the executive duties of the church along with missions and music. He is married to Grace and they have four sons, which makes for a lively home! When he's not with family or at church, he passionately roots for the Dodgers or is pedaling on his bike. More than that, he loves serving God and his people!

Steve grew up a Roman Catholic, but later accepted Christ as his personal savior and attended Calvary Chapel of Costa Mesa. Steve is a graduate of Loyola Marymount and currently works at Boeing. He completed his Masters in Christian Apologetics from the Talbot School of Theology in 2003. He is married to Janet and has two children. Steve plays an integral part of our church community with his shepherding heart. 

David came to know the gospel of Christ in 2005. He used to work as a stress engineer but has entered into vocational ministry since 2016 and now serves the folks at Gateway. He is a graduate from UCLA, UCI, and Talbot school of Theology. He and his wife Claudia have been married a few years now and continue to journey through life together. He is a enjoyer of the most random things: currently - bowling and sewing.

Evan is originally from Indonesia. He graduated from Wheaton College Graduate School in Illinois with a degree in Intercultural Studies. He is humbled by so many opportunities to serve people from many different countries and cultures for the span of 15 years. He is married to Elise -a Californian who served in Cambodia. He loves listening to people's stories and tracing God's handprints in them.

Kristine has been the Church Administrator since 2002, making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes. Before working for Gateway, she worked in the field of Human Resources and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from USC. Kristine and her husband Victor have three children and reside in Rowland Heights.

Julie has been a member of Gateway Friends since 2012 and came on staff as the Administrative Assistant in 2023.  She also serves on Gateway's Mission Board and as a Life Group Coach.  Julie and her husband, Ryan, live in Diamond Bar with their son.  Julie enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, and drawing others and herself closer to the Lord.
